About this tool
How many days between two dates? What date is 45 days from now? This calculator answers both. The “between two dates” mode gives the gap in years, months and days, plus the totals in days, weeks and business days excluding weekends. The “add / subtract” mode moves a date forward or backward by N days, weeks, months or years and shows the weekday you land on.
The awkward cases are handled properly: leap years, months of unequal length (31 January + 1 month = 28 or 29 February) and year boundaries. Handy for notice periods, delivery dates, cooling-off periods, filing deadlines or a simple countdown. Everything is computed in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How are business days counted?
Monday to Friday inside the interval, with the end date excluded — the usual convention for deadlines. Public holidays are not deducted, since they depend on the country and the year.
Is the end date included in the day count?
The total is the number of nights between the two dates: from 31 December to 1 January the gap is 1 day. If you need both dates counted (rental days, for instance), add 1.
What is 31 January plus one month?
28 February, or 29 in a leap year: when the day does not exist in the target month, the date is clamped to the last day of that month — the same rule spreadsheets and most legal deadlines use.
Can I go back in time?
Yes: switch to “Subtract” to move back N days, weeks, months or years. The “between two dates” mode also accepts dates in any order and reports the gap as an absolute value.
