About this tool

Screenshots, exported logos, downloaded graphics: PNG files are pixel-perfect but heavy, and plenty of upload forms, messaging apps and websites reject or shrink them. This tool converts PNG to JPG at a fraction of the size, with a live preview and the new file size shown up front before you download — you see exactly how much you save.

JPG has no transparency channel, so any transparent areas of your PNG are filled with the background color you choose, white by default. Quality is adjustable in the advanced options, the conversion runs entirely in your browser with no upload, and a batch of PNGs comes back as a ZIP of JPGs.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to my PNG's transparency?

The JPG format doesn't support it: transparent areas are filled with the background color set in the options (white by default). If you need to keep transparency, stay with PNG or use the background remover instead.

What quality setting should I use?

The default (92%) is visually indistinguishable from the original for almost every image. Drop to 75–85% for email attachments or web pages; the preview and file size update live, so you can judge for yourself.

Why is my PNG so large in the first place?

PNG is a lossless format: it stores every pixel exactly, which gets expensive on photos and detailed screenshots. JPG trades an imperceptible amount of quality for a file 5 to 20 times smaller — the right choice whenever you need neither transparency nor further editing.

Can I convert several PNGs at once?

Yes: drop them all in together, the same settings apply to every file, and the Download all button packs one JPG per file into a ZIP.

Is it really free, with no sign-up?

Yes — the tool is free, needs no account and has no usage limit. Processing happens locally in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.
